The Riverina Football Netball League is a semi-professional Australian rules football and netball competition containing nine clubs based in the Riverina region of New South Wales, Australia. The league features three grades in the Australian rules football competition, these being seniors, reserves and under 17s. In the netball competition, there are five grades, with these being A-Grade, B-Grade, C-Grade, C2-Grade and juniors.

The league is affiliated with the AFL NSW/ACT and is run by the Southern NSW AFL and AFL Riverina, both of whom administer the Farrer Football League, the Wagga District Junior Football League and the South West Junior Football League. Unlike much of New South Wales, Australian rules football is a popular sport in the Riverina region.

The RFNL Grand Final is traditionally hosted by Narrandera.

History

The Riverina Football League was formed in 1982 when the South Western District Football League, the Central Riverina Football League and the Farrer Football League amalgamated to create the Riverina Football League and Riverina District Football League, the latter changing its name back to the Farrer Football League in 1985.

Today the Riverina Football League serves as the first division for AFL Riverina, with the Farrer Football League being the second division.

Footballers from AFL Riverina to have played in the VFL/AFL include:

Footballers from AFL Riverina who are currently playing in the AFL include Luke Breust (Temora), Matt Suckling (East Wagga-Kooringal and Wagga Tigers) and Isaac Smith (Cootamundra and Temora), all three of whom play for the Hawthorn Hawks.

Footballers from AFL Riverina who are currently playing for the Greater Western Sydney Giants include Kurt Aylett and Jacob Townsend, both of whom used to play for Leeton-Whitton.
